Another very fine book in this excellent series. Havill creates such an interesting fictional environment that one hopes that there is a piano prodigy in his lineage. Some ugly crimes, seemingly unconnected, interrupt Estelle, et al's hopes and plans for a quiet family Christmas. Friends and colleagues seemed doomed to spending their holidays in adverse medical straits. Serious questions and challenges arise for the Guzman's and their blossoming musical genius. Estelle's careful data collection and patient analysis are threatened by the need to protect those she loves. (
