A complete and comprehensive course in practical field techniques for closeup photography. Hailed by American Photographer as "the master of the closeup," one of the country s foremost nature photographers offers the first book to apply closeup techniques to the subject of nature. Most of the available material on closeup photography concentrates on studio techniques, which can t be used effectively in the field. Discussing the basic technical considerations as they apply to outdoor closeup photography, Shaw covers exposure, equipment, and composition. Specific techniques and equipment applications include: extension tubes and bellows; macro lenses; internal focusing lenses; zoom lenses; supplementary lenses; teleconverters; flash; and lighting. Studio work and other methods are explained in relation to why they are not practical in the field. The book is illustrated throughout with Shaw s fine, full-color images. Intermediate to advanced photographers who like to photograph nature will want this informative new book by one of the finest instructors in the country today. John Shaw, author of The Nature Photographer s Complete Guide to Professional Field Techniques, one of the most popular books ever published by Amphoto, teaches workshops across the country on nature photography No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |

Although primarily on closeup photography, one still needs to know a lot of photography basics. This book provides you with all that background: It will explain aperture and shutter settings, ISO, focal length, etc. In that sense, it's a pretty handy book to have even if you're aiming for general purpose photography.
