Dave Ramsey's no-nonsense, almost simplistic approach to managing personal finances should be standard textbook reading for the younger generation. In addition to listening to his radio show, reading his books has helped me manage my finances more effectively. Most of us aren't born wealthy and we can't all become wealthy overnight, but with a little discipline and a whole lot of common sense, Dave shows how most everyone could retire comfortably on a modest income. In today's world of get-rich-quick schemes, bad economic policies, and poor personal finances, we could all use a little sound financial advice from Dave Ramsey. ( ) Dave has 'gone National' on us since this book was published - He has an excellent radio show, taking questions and comments from his audience. He does the same on his television show, also available in markets across the North American Continent. Dave admits to Learning, Graduating really, from The School of Hard Knocks. He Learned EARLY ... and he learned GOOD! He is a Man on a Mission - to wipe out Credit Cards. I applaud and thank Dave Ramsey! It's probably an unfair rating for this book to give it 2.5 stars but my primary reasons for finding it mediocre are: 1. I read his Total Money Makeover last week and found it more direct and well put together (assuming you skim the testimonials as I did). This one seemed to linger too long in generalities before getting to the actual plan. 2. The actual plan is largely the same as Total Money Makeover. I expected at least something different... 3. Even more "God" in this one. That was not intended to be a low blow as I begrudge no person their faith. It's just that I was looking for a book on finances...not Christianity. There was some of that in Total Money Makeover but less. It's decent but I'd recommend Total Money Makeover instead and tell you to skim the testimonials in that one when they get monotonous. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
