Figured out the twist a few chapters before the end, but that was because we weren't given enough info before that point. Kinda average Fear Street, not great, but certainly not the worst. ( ) I remember reading quite a bit of R.L. Stine when I was younger and really enjoying them. I know I read a few from the Fear Street series but I don't ever remember reading this one. I love reading books that take place before the time of cell phones. Its fun to go back to that. I would rate this more at 4.5 stars because I did really enjoy it and it definitely has a creep factor with a twist that I didn't figure out till about the last 20 pages. I also really love that the POV is a male. Most thriller have the dumb female lead who makes the horrible decisions. It was refreshing to have a male making the ridiculous decisions! It was a little slow at first and Cory is SUPER annoying with how obsessed he become with Anna. The ending did seem a little abrupt but I did really enjoy it and look forward to reading more in the series this month. Having so much nostalgia for Fear Street, I wanted to like this more than I did when I revisited it twenty-five years after the last time I read it. It doesn't hold a candle to great '80s YA horror writers like Caroline Cooney or Christopher Pike, as parts of it feel rushed and the ending barely makes sense. But it is a decent and fun story about that moment in every teen's life when they wonder whether their partner is actually dead. A decent if rather mundane start to the series. The most enjoyable part is the characterizations. Cory and Lisa are characters pretty much any kid can identify with and it's a pleasure to follow them through the story. The plot is the major downfall here - it just isn't all that interesting. I still don't understand how Cory didn't see Willa Corwin's name in the school files and immediately make the connection. It's a plot hole, and a rather glaring one. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
FEAR STREET -- WHERE YOUR WORST NIGHTMARES LIVE... The new girl is as pale as a ghost, blond, and eerily beautiful -- and she seems to need him as much as he wants her. Cory Brooks hungers for Anna Corwin's kisses, drowns in her light blue eyes. He can't get her out of his mind. He has been loosing sleep, ditching his friends...and everyone has noticed. Then as suddenly as she came to Shadyside High, Anna disappears. To find a cure for his obsession, Cory must go to Anna's house on Fear Street -- no matter what the consequences. Anna may be the love of his life...but finding out her secret might mean his death. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
