Lord Judge Amerokte and Pharoah Hatshepsut are up against chaos: the Nubian are in revolt, a secret fanatical Nubian society is intent on destroying the rule of Hatshepsut and all of Egypt, merchants & their ship full of wares are disappearing from the Nile, the Medjay Imperial Forces are disappearing in the middle of the desert as are travelers to & from Thebes. certain members of Pharoah's Nubian temple are being poisoned as are members of a General's family.
Through careful thought, intense questions & answers, and logical deduction Lord Judge Amerokte sorts out the problems and solves the murders.
I enjoy the character of Lord Judge Amerokte, he's kind, thoughtful, conscientious, intelligent, and fair in all his dealings. The description of his mental processes is that which keeps me reading this series. ( )
