It offers the word "HELLO" in forty-two different languages from several countries around the world. The illustrations were well drawn. There is a true depiction of what different countries look like in real life. Personal Reaction: I found this book to be very cute. This book is great to introduce to young children. Classrooms today are becoming more and more diverse and mimic the world around us. Children need to be exposed to different cultures to hold a better understanding of their peers. This book also offers an opportunity to pick up on another language. Classroom Extensions: 1. See how many of the different versions of "Hello" the students can remember. (Pre-K-5th grade). 2. Have students pair the language with the matching country. This will allow the students to practice their geography.(2nd- 5th grade). 3. Split the class into small groups assign them a country. That group can do research and present a project to the class with their findings. (3rd-5th grades). Diversity plays a big part in this book because their is so many different races, languages, cultures, etc. Just the simple word, "Hello" could be said and used in many different ways depending where you are from. Students in a classroom should be familiar with diversity because not every student is going to have to same background as one another. This is a great book to help promote diversity in the classroom. Children need to learn that there is more than one nationality, race, and culture. This book will help students interact with others that they might not be able to because of a language barrier. Language is a key to communication and students need to learn how to communicate with each other. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

This is a cute picture book style introducing the many different way to say hello. It has a picture of a child, the word, and the pronunciation of each word, as well as the country/language it originates from.
Personal Reflection:
This is a super cute book, and a wonderful way to introduce children to the many different languages in the world.
Classroom Extension:
1.) I could make flash cards, and try to have the children say the word and tell the language it is in.
2.) I could challenge the children to say hello in a different language throughout the day.
