Not sure it is really my style of book anymore but at the time I was completely sold on the book, so much that I couldn't get rid of it. I think I will need to read it again now that I am grown to see what I think of it now... since I still have it. ( ) I read this book a few years ago and even after looking at some of the reviews for this book today, I can't remember a single line, scene, character, or plot from the book. I guess that says something about how compelling (or rather, how not compelling this book is). To be fair, I was under a lot of stress at the time, but I can still recall at least something about other books I read around the same time. Valentine, a photojournalist in Kosovo carried with her the hatrid for her mother, because she didn't get enough love while growing up. Her mother didn't have an abortion, and her grandparents were over the moon with love. She wanted for nothing; yet she found out her mother had put her first little girl up for adoption and could never get over it.
