Fiction. Romance. HTML:

Between the reality of being six weeks pregnant by a guy she's dated for two months and the fantasy of pushing a baby stroller down Columbus Avenue with a wedding ring on her finger were a lot of possibilities for twenty-nine-year-old Manhattan publishing peon Sarah Solomon. Will the baby's father run screaming for the nearest subway...or pop the question?

"He's going to deny they ever had sex!" bets cynical sister Ally, an uptown lawyer who catches her "perfect" husband cheating...and happily retaliates on FindAMate.com.

"He might surprise everyone and propose," offers half sister Zoe, a celebrated relationship guru who critiques dates for a living but would have to rate her own love life a big fat zero.

"Huh?" asks their clueless father, too busy planning his society wedding to trophy wife #3 to notice what's up with his daughters. Until Sarah, Ally and Zoe find themselves suddenly sharing a bedroom in his Park Avenue penthouse....

And thanks to a little help from each other and some unexpected allies, the Solomon sisters are about to wise up in this heartwarming and hilarious novel by Melissa Senate, author of See Jane Date.

A fun and quick read. I wanted to read more. Guess i needed a feel good book like this. ( )

A very entertaining read surrounding sisters Ally and Sarah and their half sister Zoe, all of whom share an estranged but working relationship with their father and are battling troubles of their own. As each sister faces a new crisis in their personal or professional lives, pregnant Sarah reconvenes with newly-separated Ally and transitioning little sister Zoe to figure out where life will take them -- and let go the anger they had for Mr. Solomon.

"The Solomon Sisters Wise Up" was a thoroughly interesting, engaging read -- I ran through it in two days. I found myself rooting for each of the characters as they realized certain truths about themselves and their relationships with men. This was also a little more empowering than a lot of chick lit I've read; each female character had strong opinions, strong goals and strong emotions. They weren't waiting around to be told what to do or for someone else to make their decisions for them.

I'm a huge fan of Melissa Senate -- I love her novel "Questions to Ask Before Marrying," too. Recommended! ( )

Yes, it's a chick lit novel, but Melissa Senate once again proves why she was the first author for the RED DRESS INK imprint. The Solomon sisters (one married, one single and pregnant, one the dating coach of LA) end up in the spare room of their father NYC apartment during the holidays after their individual lives hit the skids. Can they deal with their issues and their multiple married dad's upcoming nupitals with a bride to be their age? You might be able to guess the ending from page one but it sure is fun getting there!

Easy to read. Basically crap though. ( )

The tale of three sisters set in NYU. Sarah finds herself pregnant and unmarried. Ally is the bossy older sister who has marital problems. Zoe is the youngest and is "half" sister of the other two and has come from CA after breaking up with her boyfriend. The three wind up staying in an apartment with their father who is marrying someone who is younger than all of his daughter, someone who is a former friend of Zoe's.

This is one dysfunctional family. It is wonderful to see the sisters come together. I liked how the story is told from each sister's perspective in alternating chapters. ( )
