The books cover some of Penguin's most notable titles from the last dozen or so years in six different categories, representing Penguin's great range and visually recalling the classic style of vintage Penguins. Therersquo;s Orange for fantastic fiction. Green for mystery. Pink for distant lands. Light Blue for big ideas. Purple for viewpoints, and Dark Blue for real lives. With authors from Zadie Smith to Paul Theroux to Donna Tartt all these books are modern classics in the making. Taking Jan Tschichold's famous 1948 "stripey" Penguin paperback design as his base, Jim Stoddart (Penguin Press' current Art Director) has re-interpreted the original look for this series. The result is a beautifully streamlined design, with each book slightly larger than the original pocket size from the 40s and retaining the distinctive one colour look. Exclusive to online customers, the Penguin Celebrations Collection also comes with a covetable limited edition double poster, featuring the original 1948 prototype design on one side and the entire gallery of 2007 Celebrations covers on the other.… (más)
