Starts out very impressively, using a huge amount of Gotham (and even some Metropolis) criminals in interesting and compelling ways to form a sprawling narrative. I also always enjoy Batman as Matches Malone for extended periods of time. Unfortunately, most of the plotlines fizzle out into either uninteresting action extravaganzas or intriguing but unsatisfying cliffhangers setting up future stories rather than paying off this one. Still, the majority of the read was so much fun my overall impression of this book was quite positive, and I enjoyed it a lot. ( )
