It was a beautifully illustrated book that certainly enhanced the tale that was being told and was done imitating the ink style of painting done around the Ming period, but with a lot of added colors. It definitely enhances the tale. ( )

A poor weaver girl sets out for the Emperor's palace in the hope of weaving a dragon's robe to please him. On the way she stops to help an ill old man in a little house. During her stay two powerful lords stop by and prove to be unprincipled -- stealing offerings meant for the rain dragon shrine. She sets out to weave a robe to lay on the same shrine and the moment she finishes it the rain dragon appears and unleashes the power of water, defeating China's enemies. At the end the old man is revealed as the emperor himself. ( )
