I've never seen this play and only read the script because Darrell foisted it on me. It's hard to believe he's going to do it with his high school kids because there's a lot of swearing and it's a little dated. Reading it, I thought it was ridiculous, but I only laughed out loud once. I'm pretty sure if I saw it, though, I'd think it was funny. ( ) Simon rehashes old themes, with rich folks who are morally corrupt and silly to boot. Some interesting gags, but nothing new. The characters are impossible to like, and feeling sympathy for anyone but the police is impossible. There really just isn't much of a story here; it's more vaudeville than anything else, and the twist ending is definitely a duex ex machina that isn't even well done. It lacks subtlety, but more than that, it lacks comedy. Simon has done many better works, and this won't go down as one of his greats. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
