So far this is my favorite picture book. I enjoyed this book for __ reasons. The first reason I enjoyed it was the message, which was about feeling jealousy toward a friend because you are apart. I could just connect to the story and I know that many kids could too. There have been times when I felt like Kathy when she said, " Louise Jenkins was a traitor! was my worst friend." At a young age sometimes you want your best friend to feel how you feel and when they don't you feel betrayed. The second reason I liked the book was the writing. Steven Kellogg, the author, really kept focus of the story, he was well organized and kept a good pace. The story didn't get cluttered with too much detail which was great.The final reason I enjoyed this book was the illustrations. Steven really did a great job illustrating the characters and their adventures. If I couldn't fully read I would feel confident in understanding the story through the illustrations alone. ( )

Okay, I'm still on my little kick of reading (or rereading) Stevn Kellogg books. This story about friendship is charming, and the illustrations, as usual, are adorable. ( )

cute book on friendship and summer!

This book talks about the lives of these two girls who are best friends and they talk about everything that they do together such as being on the same team, sharing desks at school, and drinking chocolate milk until one day one of them has to move away and they start writing letters to each other. The one little girl gets a new puppy who becomes her best friend and when the puppy gets older it has eight more puppies!! ( )

Two girls, Louise and Kathy, are best friends are do everything together. Louise goes away for the summer and Kathy gets upset about it. She plots ways to get back at her friend for leaving. Louise meets the new neighbor who has a dog that's having puppies. Kathy claimed the puppy with a spot but when the time comes, the dog only has one puppy. Kathy decided to put the jealousy behind her and the girls share the puppy. ( )
