The book also gave a brief overlook of each wonder, and a little story about how the list of the Seven Wonders came to be. ( ) This illustrated information book tells about the famous Seven Wonders of ancient times, from the Great Pyramid of Giza to the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Complete with as much background information on the Seven Wonders as is appropriate for a young readers' book, Lynn Curlee's illustrations provide an excellent visual accompaniment that help readers imagine what these ancient wonders may have looked like during their time. 'Seven Wonders of the Ancient World' is written and illustrated by Lynn Curlee. The book shows civilizations from ancient Egypt to Greece that created incredible wonders of our world that people from all over came to see. These grandly described constructions were all lost, save for the, carefully, stone-made Great Pyramid at Giza. Curlee gives readers an in-depth description of how much we knwo about how these wonders were given form before we loss them over time through deciphering what we find and analyzing what archaeologists find . One of the best parts of the picture book was the ending sentences from Curlee, telling how once our civilizations are gone, the future generation, hundred of years from now, will be looking for clues to the existence of what we have accomplished since, and curious to what we have done that will be seen as the world's Ancient wonders. Arhitecture, history, and myth intersect in this beautifully illustrated book. Curlee does his best to accurately imagine what amazing structures like the Colossus of Rhodes and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon may have looked like wen they stood. Factual and readable, this is a good book for a young history buff. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
