I would use this book with a second or third grade class when teaching the water cycle. Students will learn about the water cycle in a fun way, and in the end, can draw the water cycle, but make themselves a character in it, going through all the different stages of the water cycle.

This is a typical day at the magic school bus and the kids are checking the weather some of the kids wished it was hot so they could be outside playing but the other children didnt mind the rain because it was nice and cool. one kid said how does it rain and where does it come from so miss Frizzle takes it into her own hands and decides to take the children to the clouds to really show where rain comes from, she takes the kids to the clouds and next thing you know the kids have turned into raindrops she explains how rain turns into snow and when it gets cold enough they fall then it was back to school.
I remeber wondering where the rain came from as a kid and now reading this story i know exactly where the rain comes from miss frizzle always takes the kids on wild advenyures and then in the end they learn something.
As a class the children could ddraw a picture of where they think rain comes from and then share to the class.
