"With the assistance of the author's charts, drawings, and diagrams, explores the Bible from Genesis through Revelation and provides a dispensationalist view of creation, prophecy, Israel, the ages of man, Satan, the tribulation, and related concepts"-- "Dispensational Truth is the Rev. Clarence Larkin's famous book on dispensationalism with his beautifully drawn black and white charts. A must-have book for any student of dispensationalism, the book contains more than 115 charts, maps, and woodcuts. The result of thirty years of study, Dispensational Truth is a gold mine of information on prophetic truth for the busy pastor, evangelist, Bible teacher, and everyone who loves God's Word. In fact, Larkin's charts have been called "the gold standard" of pre-tribulation knowledge. A trained draftsman, Larkin diagrammed what he read during his Bible studies. From his drawings and charts, the study of God's Word has enriched generations of those who seek illumination and clarification regarding history, prophecy, and the future of mankind. This book has sold thousands of copies since it was first published in 1920, including more than 17,000 copies in recent years"--… (más)

I didn't realize how old this work is until I took a closer look at it. (100 years)!
I believe the modern confusion comes from those who try to elevate Dispensational Teaching to a place of inspired doctrine. I view Dispensations as a Bible Study tool.
When a young man explained the 7 Dispensations on a paper napkin some 52 years ago, it opened my mind to understand the Bible, and opened my heart to my need for salvation.
As a teaching tool this book is excellent.
Truth is consistent, and does not change. However, man has a tendency to corrupt the simple teaching of this tool and make it ultra complex, which leads to confusion.
I feel sorry for those who discard this because of the excesses of others.
I will be eternally indebted someone took the time to explain how the rightly divide the word, and lead me to my Savior and Lord Jesus Christ. ( )

Architect by trade, called by God to be a pastor. Used the tools of his trade to draw very detailed charts. The charts and text in combination enhance understanding of more difficult biblical concepts of prophecy. ( )

If you want to understand the argument for dispensationalism, this book will help you. There are other popular guides, but this is one of the first.

I found an old copy in my uncle's barn. If you can find a copy, it's worth a look for the illustrations of the Apocalypse-as-flow-chart alone. ( )

I have been reading my Bible daily for 26 years. I always pick up reading today where I left off yesterday, so my knowledge of what the Bible says and what the Bible does not say is fairly extensive.

I probably have more respect for Clarence Larkin's theology than any author I have come across to date. Although I do not agree with every scriptural position he takes, his insight into scripture is astounding and his book, Dispensational Truth, is the best I have ever found as far as an overview for general theology is concerned.

In addition to that, despite its mundane title, the book is absolutely fascinating reading. ( )
