Sports. Jim Nardi could be the Vulcans' number one linebacker. He's fast and strong, and he has good hands. But he also has one major problem: He's afraid of being tackled. His teammates are disgusted with him, and his older brother, the Vulcans' coach, is disappointed. Then one person steps forward to give Jim the help he needs - but will it be enough?

The book "Catch That Pass!" written by Matt Christopher is about a middle school football player named Jim, who is scared of being tackled. He doesn't want to tell his brouther, Doug, who is also the coach. But it starts to get hard to keep it a secret. His brother finds out, his family, his teammates. He has to tell his brother the truth or he won't get over his fear. They were at the bottom of the bracket. His teammates were mad because he kept dropping the ball everytime he saw an opponent coming after him.

One windy day Jim was painting his model plane. When his friend Chuckie Gorman opened the door, his paint thinner tipped over on the heater and caught on fire. Jim got the fire out but burned his wrist so he couldn't play football for a week. But that didn't stop him from coming to practice. The whole time during practice he would run around the track. The next week Jim and his friend Chuckie were looking through Doug's scrapbook and found a piece of paper that said Doug was scared of being tackled. That inspired Jim not to be scared of being tackled. In the end, Jim was running faster because he was on the track. They ended up being in second place at the end of the season.
