"Never let a one-night stand come between you and your Fire Island share. Barry Adelman's Davis Park house gave the old truism new meaning: It was crammed with women who kept coming back for more. Except Nina Fischman. Barry wasn't her type - until he removed his mirrored sunglasses and unleashed his crystal gaze. Before she could think "Maybe," Barry was dead - and Nina was learning that even here, on Manhattan's sizzling summer outpost, romance could be murder." "A world away from her beloved Upper West Side, Nina had reluctantly agreed to check out a Fire Island share with superlitigator Cheryl Schneiderman. Cheryl said Fire Island was the perfect place for Nina to forget her long-distance lover. The place to meet men. To Nina, however, it seems to be populated by women. Barry, the house organizer, has appropriated the single bay-front bedroom. His eight female and two male housemates double up, sardine style, below. Davis Park is Barry's oyster - until he's found dead. In bed. Poisoned. The mourners are many, and female. But the prime suspect is Jonathan Harris, Barry's oldest friend. Problem is Jonathan could be the man of Nina's - and her mother Ida's - dreams. And a good man is hard to find." "As the survivors close ranks, Nina breaks out for some supersleuthing. It's an ungovernable urge, driving her straight into harm's way - close quarters indeed! Wicked, witty, and right on target, Marissa Piesman's latest is an irresistible read."--BOOK JACKET.Title Summary field provided by Blackwell North America, Inc. All Rights Reserved… (más)

1994 Nina Fischman #4. Wonderful! Nina's wry observations are hilarious. 40 year old Jewish lawyer in Manhattan. Being a self-acknowledged Jew was hot these days. Especially if you were a man. 'People' magazine was filled with photos of yarmulked studio executives and banking moguls rediscovering their roots. And some of their wives had even converted.

It wasn't until they were lined up for the Davis Park ferry that Nina remembered how much she hated the sun.
