The whole adventure aboard the Black Parrot, and the secret society on Barracuda Island == that is like a land that time forgot == is so fun and fantastical that it really makes the book quite memorable. Love the look of the OT cover too. Though Frank and Joe look more like scientists than amateur sleuths. This is one of the original Hardy Boys series, and one of the ones that can be attributed to original ghostwriter Leslie McFarlane. It is totally bananas but very exciting: there are ships, pirates, lots of plane flights and arcane secret societies. For those who like a light, thrilling adventure, this is well worth an hour of your time. I still don't know how Frank and Joe get all that time off school though…! This book almost broke the mold for Hardy Boy stories. The author stretched the personalities of Frank and Joe Hardy so you get to know them better. Their father plays a major role in this story line. His role also shows a different side of him. He is usually a side character but the author really pushed what he could do with the father and ran with it. Breaks the mold from the traditional story line that is fed to readers. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
