Classic film (adapted from an earlier French film) of two musicians posing as women to avoid a mob hit still holds up after all these years. Curtis, doing his Cary Grant impersonation, is great, as is Lemmon, his less calm comrade--a perfect Jack Lemmon role. But it is Monroe, who is truly adorable here, who almost steals the show and makes you reflect on how sadly it all ended for her. Tremendous supporting cast and once again, at two hours, a Wilder film still doesn't lag. ( ) Two guys join an all-girl band to hide from the mob. Only Billy Wilder could take such a dumb farce idea and make a completely enjoyable movie. It's still just a dumb farce, but worth watching. The ending is good enough to bump it up to a B.
