Rogers illustrates Dylan's song with scenes of a young boy growing up in New York and becoming a musician. The illustrations also cleverly contain many references to the songwriter’s life and career which are partially explained in the Illustrator’s notes at the end of the book.

This is Bob Dylan's song, "Forever Young," illustrated and told as a young boy is growing up. I loved the message of this book and how the young boy was standing up for peace and no war. I also like how you could sing the song as you read it or listen to the song as you look at the illustrations since the words are so poetic and more effective when sung. I enjoyed the bright illustrations as well. The message of this story is to do the right thing as you grow up and never forget where you came from. ( )

I quite liked the illustrations here, and not knowing most of the references has shamed me into possibly finally getting my hands on some Bob Dylan (I don't even know the titular song, but have had the Alphaville song in my head since this afternoon when I saw this on the shelf). There's a little bit of the this-book-has-an-agenda feel to it, but then again, if you're a fan of Bob Dylan you probably already knew what it'd be like. And hey—personally, it's an agenda I am totally on board with. ( )

My sister gave this to me for Christmas a few years ago. We both love Bob Dylan, and his song "Forever Young" always reminded her of me. ( )

Each page has a different lyric and a picture that goes along with Bob Dylan's life. This book tells the story of Bob Dylan's adventures through the lyrics and drawings. I found this book very interesting and different from the typical biography. The illustrator used Bob Dylan's work to tell the story of his life. I think this book could be used for music class studying different musicians. Each child could choose their favorite song and illustrate the life of that musician. ( )
