As a "Beer Snob" it's pretty clear the narrator didn't know much about the craft beer movement before setting out, but seeing as his quest wasn't to find the perfect beer but rather the perfect beer joint that's understandable. A nice romp down the Mississippi with stops and detours of previous beer experiences elsewhere makes for a nice snapshot of Americana. (
