It is such a joy to listen to these series when the lecturers are so clearly passionate about their chosen subject of study. This one was phenomenal. ( ) Kenneth Vickery is a superb teacher very much in love with his subject. This exquisite course covers much of human history on the African continent, including the good, the bad, and the ugly, while leaving the listener with an understanding of how the modern African experience came about, and with hope for the future. I have listened to this one at least ten times, probably more, and every time I finish, I want to listen to it again... Kenneth Vickery is also responsible for introducing me to Chinua Achebe, for which I shall forever be grateful. Well, some of the info is interesting and I did learn a few interesting facts. Unfortunately the prof is racist. This is being told by a white person for other white people. This narrative largely excuses chattel slavery and uses neutral language to describe crimes against humanity if the perpetrator is white. Sigh. It was largely a waste of my time sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
