He proceeds to eat their vegetables, and still, no one listens. I love the child's perspective in this short and sweet story: will someone PLEASE listen to me? I am RIGHT! Soft and expressive watercolor and pencil illustrations capture the action. While building a rocket ship in her backyard, Rebecca spies a moose. Yet when she tries to warn the various members of her family, none of them believes her. She manages to scare the moose off (by donning her hairy monster suit) and only then does her family show up and ask what happened to the garden. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

It's easier to read as if the moose was real, and the soft pretty pictures wouldn't fit such a dark theme. But when Mom says {Y}ou know there are no moose around here," the author is leaving room for that darker interpretation.
I'd be careful about sharing this with a clever child who might pick up on the possibility that Rebecca is becoming a destructive liar." ( )
