In truth, he was guided by an invisible hand-mine."
This quote is what I love about King! However, in this little tale, his author interruptions of his own story, I found intrusive and annoying. I think it would have worked better if the author interruptions were more like notes, after the story itself. I didn't like being jarred from the action of the gigantic, oak of a woman, and the nervous-seeming young author. The story also has too much of Poe' "The Tell-Tale Heart" in it for me, including an exact quote and a similar ending with the police and floorboards. But, I'm glad I read it, and I'll never look at a blue air compressor the same way again! ( )
