This book guides the beginner step by step in the art of tying knots to make pillows, wall hangings, plant hangers, and other projects.

This book is/was right out of the seventies when macrame was terribly faddish among a certain element. I did not do macrame at the time (nor since, really) but I vaguely admired it. Reading this book takes one back several years. It's fun to remember all those plant hangers and owls and so forth that one used to see so much several decades back. As it is, I can not imagine actually engaging in macrame any more unless it be a form a therapy. Still, if you wanted to do so, here's your beginner's guide. ( )

Informative little book, with clear black-and-white photos of techniques. The finished projects are generally of the 70's wall-hanging variety, but the instructions and examples of different knots could really be applied to any project.

It also has some information on the history of macrame. ( )
