Halter and Smay articulate well not only the priorities of the church, but they spell out the regular essential activities or practices for the church and for the Christian who share those priorities.

There is a Primer Guide available for groups who want to explore this material together, and it's one of the best resources I've worked with. It focuses less on information to be absorbed and more on the development of practices and habits that can help a healthy community move beyond itself. ( )
