This book documents the many different mythical creatures and some of the Gods from greek mythology. It takes one to two pages for each creature or god and explains their story, how they came to be, what they are known for, etc. Parts of the book were dull, but most of what it shared in each lesson was helpful and enlightening to mystical being. It presents each creature in a memorable way and the illustrations are bold, clear, and specific to each entity. A fun bestiary refrence. USE: Greek Mythology ( )

This book features bold and bright illustrations of greek mythology characters as well as the story of each creature and its significance. This is a great introduction for background knowledge of greek mythology for upper elementary -adults. There are a few stories intertwined in this book about the creatures. One Zeus fell in love with Princess Io and his wife Hera became suspicous. Worried that his wife would give her wrath, Zeus turned the princes into a cow. Hera, knew so she hired a watchman to keep the cow prisoner. For this Zeus learned his lesson. (There would have to be preparation on a teacher's part to engage in this story with younger students.) I think everyone should be introduced to greek mythology and this is the perfect book to do so.

Greek Mythology is a tough subject to grasp for most adult, let alone elementary students. I felt this collection did these Myths justice. The illustrations depict all of the different creatures in a manner that clarifies them well. Very good detail and information on each creature.

An excellent juvenile explanation of Greek Mythological creatures. Each set of pages contains a story of the mythical creature and a picture of what the creature was believed to look like. While each page is independent, when one creatures story overlaps with another the story is able to flow through the pages. The introduction and the afterward help to set the scene for the book as well as bring the book to a close. This would be a great book for introducing kids to Greek Mythology and could be for upper elementary students and middle school students. ( )
