Ben Bear wants freshly baked bread but it is too hot. He goes off to school with the promise of a slice with honey when he returns. He decides to make a drawing of his mother at school. On his way home, he shows it to his friends who each "suggest" improvements to it.

A cute story for kids. Mama is surprised at how she looks but with love in her heart keeps her promise to Ben. I enjoyed it. I figured the picture would change with each "improvement" but it was fun to read. ( )

Ben the bear, wants the fresh bread his mom pulls out of the oven with honey on top. His mother says when he gets home from school he can have a piece. At school he draws a picture of her. On his way home, he asks his friends what they think of it. Each animal friend adds to the picture, for example, the bunny says the ears need to be longer. In the end the picture looks ridiculous, but the mother still loves it and gives him a piece of bread.

I enjoyed the book, "Bread and Honey." I would read this story to kindergarten or first graders. This book is about a little bear who hurrys to school so he can have a piece of bread and hunny when he got home. Well when he was at school he painted a picture of his mom. When he was on the way home from school he saw all different kinds of animals that said the picture needed something done to it. The rabbit said that the picture need bigger ears, the elephant said a bigger nose, the alagator said a bigger mouth. The bear stopped and painted all these different things on his picture but this did not look like him mother at all. Well when he got home his mom took the picture and told the little bear she loved the picture just how it was. She then gave the little bear a pieace of bread with hunny on it. I really thought this was a cute book. I think it would be a good book to add to a discussion about how we all look differently. ( )
