It was a good story, interesting world, and good characters. I enjoyed it whenever I was reading it, but somehow I often let it lie for weeks on end. I don't really know why, but it was not pulling me in, even though it had all the potential. It could have been my mood, this has been a stressful year and my brain could not always cope with things less readily accessible. ( )

It's very much not perfect, but I cared about the characters and plot a lot. I also thought it did a really good job of fleshing out common trope characters, and I loved Keris's practicality and pragmatism. ( )

I love this book and I am so glad that I was able to find a copy of it. It has wonderfully character that are beautifully crafted, set in an interesting and imaginative world. My only regret is how damaged my copy is...So I am always on the look out for another copy. ( )

Almost impossible to find now, but well worth the effort (and cost!) of tracking down a copy. Glenda Noramly is a fantastic writer with some of the best worldbuilding skills in the business. If you can't find this book, track down her novels as Glenda Larke instead -- Glenda has a beautiful way of combining a great plot and characters with a different way of looking at the world. There is NOTHING run of the mill about this story or this author. Two enthusiastic thumbs up. ( )

In the beginning there was only Chaos -- but this was displeasing to the Maker, so He took the matter of Chaos and moulded it to form the firmament and the stars, which was more pleasing to Him. But the Unmaker Lord looked on His work and was unhappy, for Chaos is Lord Carasma's Realm, and only in the Unstable does he find joy. -- Creation, Book I: Passage 1, Phrases 2 & 3
