In three stories full of wit and energy, Gary Soto describes the ordinary lives of young people. Meet Angel, who would rather fork over twenty bucks than have photos of his naked body plastered all over school. In the end the brother got the photo back and realized that it was blurry and didn't matter.; Estela, known as Stinger, who rules José's heart and the racquetball court, then realized when he lost that he didn't like her, when went on with his life; last but definitely not least Lorena, that got her high school crush's Raiders Jacket but lost it after science cause she didn't want to get frog guts all over it but the crush found his jacket, got mad at the girl and told her to stay away from him. There were more stories but these were my favorites.
I liked the story a lot but i wish that the endings would have been happier. ( )

This book is about three different people and their stories. The first story is about a boy that took a picture of his brother in the shower and made him do what he wanted for an amount of time and he would give him the picture back. In the end the brother got the photo back and realized that it was blurry and didn't matter. In the second story, a girl got to borrow her crush's jacket and lost it. In the end the crush found his jacket and got mad at the girl. In the last story, a boy challenges his crush to a racketball game and loses badly.
My opinion of this story is that it is a real-life experence. Things may not happen the way you want them to. Also people might be mean or unforgiving.
