Apparently K2 is about the only mountain in the history of alpinism that had some punches to pull. And there are almost no failures left in the 2nd half of the 20th century. Is that because there are no copyrights to the older tales? In any case - it is a disappointing start of a series that coulld have been a good read. But just as it is not very affectionately designed / made, the selection appears to have been made for reasons that don't open up to me.
