This story is about a little girl who is dealing with her mother and her mother's ex-boyfriends break up and she feel they are all alone again. this book is for older children who understands a little more.

In this story the character,Amy, is especially lonely and sad on her sixth birthday and Gary, her mother's former boyfriend, will not be there. (Divorced from her mother, her father never comes to see her.) Her day is fraught with confusion and depression for this little girl. A visit by loving relatives for a surprise party that evening reassures her that she is very much loved. This book would be perfect for children that have to endure parents bringing new significant others in the picture and then them leaving. This book also reminds those going through similar situations that there are more people out there that love them that they might not notice. ( )
