I did appreciate that the heroine had a fair amount of agency, and the overall message that sex should/can be fun and fulfilling for both parties. But I couldn't really get past the only person of color in the book being a rapist/slaver of the white hero. With historical fiction in particular, that's a narrative which could really take a back seat to stories of how white people raped and enslaved people of color from all around the world. Which isn't to say that such a scenario never happened, but it definitely didn't work for me in a romantic setting. It reminded me a little too much of [b: Fifty Shades of Grey|10818853|Fifty Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades, #1)|E.L. That's kind of the opposite of my type of story, so ymmv. ( ) Lots and lots of various sex, even some m/m and m/f/m. Valentin was captured as boy and was a Turkish sex slave. Lots of sex, intrigue over his business and dealing with his past come to destroy him. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Surrender to page-turning sensuality in the explosive first book in Kate Pearce's House of Pleasure series. . . Sexual Satisfaction Ten years as a sex slave in a Turkish brothel left Lord Valentin Sokorvsky with an insatiable appetite for sex. Now the time has come for him to marry, but finding a woman who can satisfy his lustful desires proves a challenge. . .until he meets Sara and all he can think about is having her lie under his rock-hard body, begging him to taste and touch her. . . Sensual Seduction Sara Harrison knows she should be shocked and scandalized by Lord Sokorvsky's bold advances, but instead she is secretly aroused by this sensual, seductive man. For beneath her calm and composed manner is a wanton woman who longs for a man's intimate caress. She is most willing to be educated in the art of sensuality, to receive and give pleasure and to succumb to the wild desire that knows no limits. . . "This book has something for everyone: hot sex scenes, a sexy hero with a tragic past, a smart and compassionate heroine, intrigue, danger and Regency London at its most decadent!" --Romantic Times "Simply Sexual by Kate Pearce is one of the most arousing and enigmatic historical novels I have read this year." --Romance Junkies "Intelligent characters, complex emotions and a plot that engaged my emotions to a rare high. Very highly recommended." --Two Lips Reviews No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
