This is the diary of 12-year-old Sarah Simpson, whose parents have just divorced. She's upset about it, but she learns to accept it. Sounds cliche, but it's actually a pretty cute book, and very short (only 84 pages). Sarah's voice rings true. ( )

Twelve-year-old Sarah Simpson’s life has changed a lot in the past year, and she writes lists in her journal. And the lists are many, considering her father has a new young wife in California and her mother is moving in with her boyfriend. This book would be a good addition to a class library because it deals with divorce and how girls would cope. Although the book is written about an older girl I think this book would be good for fourth or fifth grade.

This book is about Sarah Simpson through her early steps of life. She creates list of what to do and what not to do in every situation she faces as she grows up.
