As a father of pre-school age children, I've spent many hours in the past year thinking and reading about education. He tackles the very nature of education and puts it into context of the modern American educational system. While I didn't come to all the same convictions and conclusions as him, I could not walk away from this book without thinking deeply on many important questions about how I choose to educate my children.
I highly recommend [b:Excused Absence|803132|Excused Absence|Douglas Wilson|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1348206782s/803132.jpg|789092], not so that you will agree with everything in the book but that it will force you to encounter important educational issues using a Biblical worldview and parent on purpose. A concise book that explains why Christians should not leave the training of their children to an institution that opposes all that is biblical. ( )
