It jives well with Dick King-Smith's "The Mouse Butcher" as well. The characters are fun. You have Texas Jake, the top cat and somewhat of a bully to the boys yet kind to others. Carlotta, the calico who all the gang respect and try not to upset. "You have only one life," she tells the boys, "and once you lose it, no more cat." There's two more, Elvis the singer and Boots, who is more sidekick to T.J. than anything if I remember correctly. The story is very nice, and does leave room for the sequels that came after it. Cat lovers should enjoy it. ( ) The Grand Escape By Phyllis Reynolds Naylor This book was about two inside cats, names Marcos and Polo. They were two cats that have never been outside, unless they went to the vet. There owner Mr. and Mrs. Neal would not let them go outside the house. But one time Marcos decides they should escape and go outside. While they were out in the world they discover new things and meet new cats and also had tried many types of food, they also got in trouble with this big mean dog. Marco and Polo had to solve 3 mysteries, Marco had met this cat name Carlotta he really likes her. When they try to solve the mysteries they run into some problems, find out what happens to them While I was reading this book I really enjoyed it. Its was interesting and I didn’t get bored while I was reading the book. When I first saw the cover of the book and read the title I expected to be about cats trying to escape from a problem they had, I also thought this book was going to be wrong. Its kind of what I expected, only that they escape from home to discover the outside world. Also it wasn’t that boring as I thought it was going to be. Kids would enjoy this book because it talks about cats who escape from home and go on different kinds of adventures. I would also recommend it to teachers. I have always wanted to see this book get turned into a movie. It's that good! It's the adventures of Marco and Polo, two gray tabby brothers, who get sick of being cooped up in the house and escape into the alleys. They make friends (and enemies) and learn some valuable social lessons....and have crazy misadventures such as getting chased by rats in the sewer during a thunderstorm! The characters are very well written and the character Polo is rather sympathetic. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
