( ) personal response: After reading this book I see a lot of the similarities that I don’t recall noticing as a child. All of R. L. Stine’s main characters at this point are female and they tend to be older high school age. The surprise ending at the end of each chapter is apparent, but forced many times; sometimes annoyingly so. Once again there is a mystery, but not one that could be solved by the reader due to lack of information grades 6 - 12 curricular connections: This book was first published 15 years ago and was re-released in 2005 but the absence of mobile phones in the hands of these teenagers really dates the book. Basically it is one of a collection Stine wrote that are centered around a street called Fear Street where at least one of the characters in the novel lives. This is the story of a group of friends and a murder and one member of the group confessing to the murder but telling all the others in the group to keep their mouths shut! The murder itself is quite gruesome; ice-skates stuffed into a bully's mouth and strangulation and the body dumped behind an ice-rink. Teenage girls will probably like it but I thought it was drivel and I guessed who the real murderer was about half-way through. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
