This book was ridiculously hard to read due to antiquated words/terms and the use of specific medical terms, as well as some foreign phrases. Some of these items were not even available using a Google search. Other than that, the book is just ok. A lot of Freud's ideas and theories seem very outdated and even bizarre; but then, I am not an expert on psychology. I wrote down dozens of definitions and tucked my notes in the back of the book, in case anyone ever wants to read my copy. I won't be reading it again any time soon. :)
I found the case studies interesting, if somewhat strange, but that would be expected considering the subject matter. I read a more recent book titled "Falling Into the Fire: A Psychiatrist's Encounters with the Mind in Crisis" by Christine Montross (2013) which is excellent, and much easier to understand.
