Truly an odd little book in which a highly magnified and thoroughly educated woggle bug falls in love with a dress and goes on a series of adventures as he attempts to possess his beloved fabric. No, really. ( ) After gritting my teeth through a dreadful interview with an author who has written a bio of Baum, I decieded on a Project Gutenberg trip into Baum world. This one is quite odd and rather dated in a not totally good way but has it's moments. The ethnic stereotypes may be of the times but don't sit well today. Lucikly this Gutenberg edition has the lovely illustrations that make it more fun to read. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

HTML: The Woggle-Bug, a creation from the mind of L. Frank Baum, who also penned the Wizard of Oz series, captivated the United States in the early 1900s. The comical character was a multimedia sensation at the time, appearing in everything from comic strips to books to a live stage show. Though some of the ethnic humor in the book may be somewhat jarring to modern readers, The Woggle-Bug Book remains a captivating read more than 100 years after its initial release. .No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
