This is a travel book for tourists. While in the Army in Colorado I made several trips back home to Oregon via SF. I always took this book along to scout neat sites in the city. Printed in the late 80's, it is now dated. But I find it a nice nostalgia book. (

I've always enjoyed the Access series of travel books, in part for their seemingly unbiased recommendations, but also because they often include little out-of-the-way things you might not see on normal touristy routes. My wife and I have been to S.F. each of the past 3 years, and this book has been my handy traveling companion on each visit. It's well-designed and although it's 4 years old now, it hasn't really gone out of date yet. (
