Using this book, kids will be willing to learn more about fractions. Kids really enjoy being able to make connections to things they know about, so this is a great way to start. ( ) Very simple book about fractions. I can see it being used for a tier 1 learner or visual learner. There weren't many explanations of mathematical terms, but honestly there was no need for it. It did have a natural connection to mathematics by using food to show fractions and having recipes in the back of the book that also use fractions. There was however, no sense of wonder and the pictures were outdated and dull. This book was all about two friend’s eating pies and fruits in proportions. It teaches the meaning of a whole of something and the fractions of that whole. On one page it shows us the whole banana. The next page that follows shows us the two friends eating half of the banana. I liked how at the bottom of each page with the friends eating, it gives us an illustration that demonstrates the fraction. I think this would be a really good starter book if you were about to teach beginners about fractions. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
