The engaging writing takes us through the troubles of Stamper, an uncharacteristically kind mule. I liked that the plot takes us through the school day full of tests where Stamper is being tasked to be stubborn and mean to others, yet he cannot seem to follow through. Stamper questions why he's not allowed to be nice and do what he's told. His teacher, Mrs. Kick, replies "Nobody else's idea is good..." which leads Stamper to feel defeated and confused. The book is relatable for children who are facing moral dilemmas, and I think that the engaging characters do a great job of representing all of a child's options in making those decisions. The central message of this story is brought forth when Stamper's decisions to be nice put him in a position to become a hero. This book allows children to see that making good choices and being nice to others is always the right decision. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña
Although he likes some things about school, Stomper does not do well with his lessons in stubbornness and is teased for not being like the other mules, but when disaster strikes and the others dig in, Stomper proves that being stubborn is not always the best choice.
