A series of edited letters written by the author as a young WASP in training to her mother to to a friend and neighbor and future husband, a young Marine pilot who crashed while practicing night landings. Marion's letters to Ned made his long hospital stay a little less difficult. She also felt free to tell him about some of the flying problems she and her fellow WASP faced - problems she would not put in her letters to her mother. She talks about weather related difficulties and the mechanical problems of the planes she and other WASP flew. Also discusses some WASP casualties.
