Tom saw his daddy leaving from home, Tom knew he wouldn´t see his dad anymore so he started crying into his room. Her mom gave him his teddy and told him an story about a daddy bear. The mom use taddy as reference showing that even teddy is missing his dad but now he has a new friend. Tom smiles and hugs Teddy knowing that he and teddy will be together.

this story is simply a child struggling with his parents divorce and although there are no easy or ready answers it can get better

This book interprets a young boy's struggle with his parents' recent separation. Tom's father moves away, and he is unhappy with the new circumstances. Rather than wish his father a goodbye he sulks and hides in his bedroom. His little friend, the teddy bear tells him a story about how his bear parents also separated. The bear's story helps Tom come to terms with the new and uncomfortable situtation. He is determined that next time he will wish his daddy a goodbye. I would recommend this book to a child that has recently experienced such an event in her/his life. It would be important to know if both parents are still present in the child's life. Otherwise, Good-bye, Daddy! may be difficult for the child to absorb if one of her/his parents is not present.
