Jackie French as always is a very entertaining writer, as well as being able to call on a wealth of experience with which to write. Her non-nonsense and down-to-earth attitude make this book a terrific stepping-off point for those looking to begin a foray into backyard food production, although it lacks specifics for seasoned vegie-growers looking for something more advanced. A great read for newbies. ( )

Jackie is a prolific writer and has a lifetime of experience on this subject matter. There is nothing wrong about this book if you are new to self sufficiency however, if you already know the basics this book does not offer much new or innovative. ( )
