Published in 2005, We're Off to Find the Witch's House appears to be kindergarten teacher Richard Krieb's only book. It features a deliciously spooky story, one which is told both through Krieb's rhythmically rhyming text and veteran illustrator R.W. Alley's cute illustrations. Young readers and listeners will enjoy being 'in the know,' as so many of the creatures encountered by the children are obviously fellow trick-or-treaters, and will likewise appreciate the happy ending, in which everyone is welcomed to the 'witch's' party. Recommended to picture-book readers looking for Halloween stories for the preschool set. ( )
