Another book I'd bought to decoupage with and then couldn't bring myself to cut it up. Unfortunately someone else had gotten to the book first, because it had been marked in and pages were torn. I see your name in this Jerry Blain (because you wrote it on the inside of the book, and signs are you weren't very old), I'm betting you did that scribbling. Though I'll not blame you for the lipstick. (To be clear, I'd not blame you for wearing lipstick Jerry - just don't use it for making lip prints on book pages.)

Book publication date is 1938 by the way. I had a book of my father's much like this one only a different topic - but I'd swear the artwork/illustrations were done by the same artist. Unfortunately I can't find a name anywhere for that artist.

I haven't checked myself but this appears to be the same book on Open Library - so you could check it out as an ebook.

Excellent condition. Well-illustrated with b/w line drawings. Very Euro-centric, of course. Last chapter:"How the stream of history brought us the gifts of the past, and how it flows on, carrying the gifts of our nation to the people of the future." ( )
