One problem is the very quirky pronunciations. It tries to give both US and British versions, but it seems this work was done by British people who are not experts in American speech. Many words give only a "US" pronunciation but include quirks such as the BBC-accent "short i" for the 2nd syllable of "chicken": /'ʧɪkɪn/ (CHICK-inn)! ( )
