I wasn't familiar with this early years series translated in French so I decided to check it out as a possible resource for French Immersion classrooms and libraries. Overall, this was an enjoyable and fun read featuring two adorable woolly mammoth characters, Oscar and Arabella. Some of the vocabulary would pose a particular challenge for early Immersion students but after a few pages, the structure becomes evident. I wasn't a huge fan of the illustrations as I found them a little sloppy and unclear. That said, I guess this disorder in the illustration suits the characters personalities and younger readers, if they weren't scared of the images, would likely enjoy them. In the end, I'd likely purchase this for my school library. sin reseñas | añadir una reseña

Oscar was a woolly mammoth. And so was Arabella. Did anyone ever tell you that woolly mammoths weren't very smart? Don't believe them if they did! Oscar and Arabella were two woolly mammoths who had to think very fast to outwit the scary creature lurking in the cave. Quirky and imaginative--this is a startlingly distinctive picture book, wildly and wittily illustrated. No se han encontrado descripciones de biblioteca. |
